We work hard to make Waldorf Education accessible to all families. Our tuition costs are below the average for Waldorf Schools operating in North America, and we are one of the least expensive private schools in south eastern Wisconsin. We also offer generous Tuition Adjustment to qualifying families and are a proud participant in the Wisconsin Choice Program. Our non-profit school strives to keep tuition as low as possible while still recognizing the true value and cost of our world-renowned Waldorf Education.

Tuition Adjustment:

We work with families to make Waldorf Education accessible, and offer generous tuition support to qualifying families. Tuition support is available on the basis of demonstrated need. If you believe that your resources are not sufficient to meet the total cost of a Prairie Hill Waldorf School Education, you may apply.

Wisconsin Parental Choice Program:

We believe in extending the opportunity of a Waldorf education to all children regardless of income. Prairie Hill is now a Choice school (WPCP) offering openings in K4 through Grade 8 for the 2024-2025 school year.

Open enrollment begins each February and runs through mid-April. Please see the DPI website for more information.

Go to DPI Site

As a Choice school, we are required to provide enrolled families access to our annual Choice report card. Prairie Hill’s overall score is NR (not rated). This is because we don’t have enough students taking the tests to generate adequate data. We are also required to provide families with a list of educational options in Wisconsin. If you have any questions, please contact Liz Torinus, Admissions Coordinator: 262-646-7497

Other Fees:

Supply Fee: see Tuition Schedule above, non-refundable

Application Fee: (for any new students) $75

Enrollment Fee: (for returning families only) $200 if submitted before 2-21-24,  $400 thereafter

Sibling Discount:

In recognition of the commitment to send more than one child to Prairie Hill, we offer a 15% sibling discount for a second child and 25% for additional children. Families who receive tuition adjustment are not eligible for the sibling discount.

After School Care Program:

End of school day - 5:30 p.m.

The Prairie Hill Care Programs are open to students enrolled in the school. They complement the school day by using the same Waldorf principals found in the classroom. All Care Programs are billed monthly by the Business Office. Please contact the Program Manager, Sally Sommer, at 262-646-7497 for availability and fees.

Tuition and Fee Payments:

Tuition may be paid annually, quarterly, or in equal 10 or 12 month payments starting in July. All payments are handled by FACTS Management Company through direct debit.

A tuition discount is available for families paying full annual tuition in advance.

A nonrefundable enrollment fee is due at registration with your signed Tuition Contract. Enrollment fee is only for returning families. Enrollment Commitments are for the entire school year. Early withdrawals are responsible for 25% of remaining tuition prorated from date of departure.

Additional Costs:

  • Parents are responsible for Learning Support that the school cannot provide at any given time depending on the needs of the children and the support offered by the Kettle Moraine school district.
  • All overnight field trips
  • Extra-curricular sports programs
  • Instrument rentals and private lessons
  • Individual student contributions to the Grade 8 class trip
