CLASS OF 2001

NATHAN KAMSLER Organized a series of fundraising concerts in the Milwaukee area with local musicians immediately following the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti in 2010. The first one raised over $3k for YOUTHAITI, a Milwaukee-based charitable organization whose relief efforts focus on developing long term, sustainable help for the country and its people. Nathan’s other musical ventures include Operation Adaptation: an annual Earth Day music festival featuring many revolutionary ways to make an event “green,” including bicycle and solar-powered stages, and Fat Fest: a four-day music and camping festival.

ASHER PERZIGIAN (NOTLEY) Graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Rochester in 2005, where he double-majored in socioeconomic anthropology and political science. He wrote an honors thesis, entitled “Why Teams Matter” and was the recipient of the Percy Dutton Prize “given to a male member of the graduating class who has excelled in wholesome, unselfish and helpful influence among his fellow students” as well as the Alice DeSimone Student Life Award for “dedication, enthusiasm, collaboration, and positive role modeling in the college.” Immediately after graduation Asher began working at Epic Systems as a Project Management Implementation Consultant in Madison and is now working for BlueNovo.

RUDY BATZELL Is studying at Cambridge University, Clare College completing a Masters in Economic and Social History. He graduated from Columbia University in 2009, Summa Cum Laude and received early induction into Phi Beta Kappa. His senior thesis won the Marion Elsberg Prize in Modern History at Columbia, and he has also been awarded the Euretta J. Kellett Fellowship which provides two years of graduate study at either Cambridge or Oxford, as well as the Beinecke Scholarship, providing supplementary funding for graduate studies in the humanities and social sciences. Rudy was a finalist for both the Marshall and the Rhodes scholarships.

ELAINE KUEHNEMANN Graduated from Carroll University, Waukesha, WI, Magna Cum Laude, with a B.S. in psychology (clinical emphasis). During her senior year she designed and conducted a behavioral experiment for an area of psychology that is virtually unexplored–the effect of color on motivation and achievement. Elaine is currently taking chemistry and physiology classes at UW Waukesha for a graduate program and plans to attend Bastyr University (a naturopathic medical school) in Seattle in their masters program for Clinical Health Psychology and Nutrition.

JACOB VON TISH Attended to UW-Stout and is now living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and working for Whirlpool Amana as an Engineer.

LAURA WITTIG Received a B.S. in Women’s Studies from The George Washington University and is now at Alverno for a B.S. in Nursing.

BRENDAN ZIEGLER Works in Chicago as an administrative assistant/office manager for a personal growth and human development firm. He graduated from Whitman College in 2009 with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Sports Studies, Recreation, and Athletics. While at Whitman he was a four-year member of the Varsity Basketball team. In high school, he was a captain of the varsity basketball team that went to the state tournament and knocked the #1 team in the state out of the playoffs.

SADIE TUESCHER Graduated from Pius XI 2005 with honors. Graduated Cum Laude from Marquette University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and English Literature. During her time at Marquette, Sadie participated in the campus environmental group and was appointed to the President’s Sustainability Task Force as a student director of the New Buildings Workgroup during her senior year. Sadie participated in three volunteer trips to New Orleans, LA and helped to rebuild homes after hurricane Katrina. Currently, Sadie is an Elder Benefit Specialist at SeniorLAW, a division of Legal Action of Wisconsin, located downtown Milwaukee. Sadie provides legal advocacy to Milwaukee County seniors on a variety of insurance and consumer issues. She is also a certified State Health Insurance Program counselor and provides a variety of services and advocacy relating to Medicare and Medicaid. She has several good memories of PHWS including: the 8th grade class play and trip, recess, and studying Norse myths. Learning how to think she said was the most useful thing learned while attending PHWS.
