In its 32nd year, Prairie Hill Waldorf School has an enrollment of more than 120 children, preschool through Grade 8 as well as parent-infant and parent-child playgroups. We are a fully accredited member school of the Association Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), the State of Wisconsin, and the North Central Association (NCA) Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. The school is located just 30 miles west of Milwaukee and 45 miles east of the university town of Madison in the beautiful lake district of Delafield.

Prairie Hill is part of an anthroposophical community that supports several biodynamic farms and the Michael Fields Agricultural Institute, two Lifeways Centers, one Lifeways Training Center, the Great Lakes Waldorf Teacher training program, anthroposophical medicine and pharmacy, the Rafael Music Foundation, the Emmaus branch of the Anthroposophical Society and more.

We offer a salary and benefit package that can include tuition remission, health insurance, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, and optional dental insurance. We also have additional funding earmarked for teacher professional development and mentoring.

Grade 1 Class Teacher for 2020


Prairie Hill Waldorf, an AWSNA and WECAN accredited school, is seeking a full time Grade 1 teacher for the 2020-21 school year. We will welcome a class of about 21 enthusiastic students coming out of our Early Childhood program. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching, parent education and dialogue, self-development, collegial cooperation and the desire to work with the anthroposophical foundations of the curriculum

Substitute Teacher


The substitute will provide support and structure to the classroom when the scheduled teacher cannot be present. Hours vary from 8:15 to 3:35 Monday – Friday as needed.

Part-Time School Maintenance


The position requires a part-time, service oriented individual working 12-15 hours per week (nights) responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and healthy facility for our children by modeling to others the importance of respecting and caring for our environment and the structure that we own.
