Process and Forms
We appreciate your interest in Prairie Hill Waldorf School!
The Prairie Hill Waldorf School’s enrollment process, which begins with a school visit, is designed to provide an exchange of information for you to learn more about our programs and for us to learn more about your child and your family. This process can take up to several weeks. We encourage you to begin your research right away, so when you are ready to make your decision we can move forward with confidence.
1. Visit the School
The first step is to attend an open house, a private tour, or participate in a community event to familiarize yourself with the Waldorf approach. Call 262-646-7497 or email
to schedule a visit.
2. Complete the Enrollment Forms
Complete the application form and interview information form. Return both forms with a check payable to PHWS for the $50 non-refundable application fee per student. We accept applications throughout the year.
3. Secure Recommendations and Transcripts
For students in Grade 2 and above, records and transcripts need to be received from their current school.
Once the application forms, recommendations and transcript materials (for students in Grade 2 and older) are received, they are reviewed, and a decision to move to the next step is made within two weeks and will be communicated with you.
Class placement and acceptance to the school depends on your child’s academic, developmental and social progress. Prairie Hill Waldorf School evaluates students' readiness for and placement in the Early Childhood and Grades programs.
4. Schedule an Interview
An interview is held with you, your child, and your child's potential Waldorf teacher. During the interview the teacher will have an in-depth discussion of the Waldorf curriculum for that particular grade and you will have the opportunity to discuss your child’s strengths and challenges. This step will help to mutually determine if the school is a good fit for your child and for your family. Most importantly, we want to be able to meet the needs of your child.
5. Schedule the Student Visit
Your child will be invited to visit the classroom for one, two, or three days to allow the teacher an opportunity to get to know your child.
6. Coordinate an Evaluation
If necessary, an additional evaluation may be scheduled. Details will be communicated with you.
7. Learn about the Enrollment Decision
You will receive a letter communicating the acceptance status of your child. If you complete the next steps of the process within four weeks of receiving this notification you will receive $100 off your child’s supply fee.
8. Schedule an Admissions Meeting
Before your child can start school, you will meet with the Enrollment Director and/or Business Manager to complete the tuition contract, pay the supply fee, and finalize your financial arrangements with the school.
You will receive a registration packet, which includes an emergency card, health registration form, and volunteer commitment form. This paperwork is required for students to attend classes or participate in school functions.
9. Reservation of Class Space
Your completed contract, payment plan, and deposit reserve your child's place at Prairie Hill Waldorf School.
10. Prepare your child and your family for a great journey
