Summer Playgroup Sessions
For the first time, the Early Childhood Department will be offering a Summer Playgroup program. Playgroup is a parent-child class designed for little ones, 18 months through 4 years. It is a time for child and parent to learn together in a nurturing setting, with natural toys that enhance a child’s imagination, initiative, and development of social skills. By participating in songs, poems, finger plays, story time, and other activities, parents will enter into the magic of learning in childhood. Healthy snacks will be prepared during each class. Parents will have an opportunity to learn simple craft projects and share ideas with each other. Because we will be meeting during the summer months, we will spend more time outdoors in the meadow and woods, exploring the world around us. The program’s intentions are to present both parent education and children’s play. Come join the fun!
Summer Playgroup will be divided into two, three-week sessions, meeting on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 to 11:30. Sign up for one or both sessions. Younger siblings are welcome if space allows. The fee for each session (six class days) is $125.00. A minimum of 6 families is needed to run the program with a maximum of 12 children for each session.
